Morpa Ders

2021 / Based on Türkiye

Morpa Ders is an online platform that connects students with private tutors. When we first started developing Morpa Ders, our goal was simply to bring tutors and students together. However, through our research phase, we realized that we could make the platform more efficient and beneficial for both tutors and students by adding new features.

One of the features we added is group classes. This feature is designed to make Morpa Ders more affordable for families who may not be able to afford private lessons. Group classes are also a great option for students who prefer to learn in a group setting.

Another feature we added is the ability for tutors to publish their class videos. These videos are not live or interactive, but they are still paid. This feature allows tutors to reach a wider audience and earn additional income.

We also added a feature that allows students to rate and review their tutors after each class. This feature is designed to help students find the best tutors for their needs and to help tutors improve their services.

Morpa Kampus is one of the biggest e-learning plartform for first and middle school kids in Turkey and these are my first steps as a professional designer :) We decided to puslish the application as 4 applications. For students, for teachers to follow the assigment of kids, for parents and finally for school managers to follow both teachers and students.

The main challenge for Morpa Kampus Student application was the user profile. Because the user can be between 7 to 14 years old and they both need to understand and enjoy to use the app. 14 years old children do not like to feel like kids, so we made some changing on the first screen. We used more "mature" illustrations than the illustrations we used on primary school kids' secreen. Also we used dark theme on the other applications as you see above.

One of the most insightful things we learned during our research phase came from a teacher who works for Morpa. The teacher was concerned that students might use the rating system to leave negative comments about tutors even if the tutors were not at fault. For example, a student might know the teacher in real life, from the school they worked and do not like him personally.

To prevent this, we added a feature that allows tutors to mark comments as "harmful" and explain why they think the comment is harmful. Morpa can then review the comment and decide whether or not to keep it.

We also added a feature that allows students to see planned group lessons and book their seats quickly. Students can also see the calendar of teachers' availability and book lessons for specific times.

We believe that these new features make Morpa Ders a more efficient and beneficial platform for both tutors and students. We are committed to providing our users with the best possible experience, and we will continue to add new features and improvements in the future.

Note: This project is still in development and the design may change.

After user research (unfortunately I do not have the user research part anymore), I started to draw wireframe through the insights we got from our users. Drawing wireframes was hard and fun at the same time because there were not a lot of application as we had so you can not get inspiration. But after the wireframing done, we discuss the screens and made some changes to find the best design and I think we did pretty good.

The user interface design part was delightful because building an application for kids... perfect. The colors and the illustrations you can choose are so fun. Hope you enjoy to look at the screens as much as I enjoy while I build them. (Note: Coding process stil going on for Morpa Kampus and there can be changes on the way)
